Trainee Accountant

We are actively recruiting for an enthusiastic school leaver/college graduate to join our growing accounts department.  The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and challenging role within the JMT team and be provided with full training leading to a professional accountancy qualification.  This role would be ideal for a recent school leaver or college graduate who is passionate about launching a career in accountancy.

 Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
  • Preparation of business tax computations.
  • Bookkeeping support including cloud accounting
  • Developing and maintaining client contact and relationships
  • Regular client contact, both face to face and by telephone/email
  • Ad hoc duties as required to provide support across departments

Professional development

  • The successful candidate will benefit from a training programme and, in time, the possibility of a professional study package to support their career development.

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have:

  • Strong academic performance, particularly maths and english
  • Be passionate and enthusiastic about a career in accountancy
  • Able to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft office.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships with both other team members and clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to learn from others and a willingness to undertake further study as part of their career development at JMT.
