Current Opportunities

Payroll Assistant

Your main responsibilities will include: 

    • Working within the payroll team ensuring compliance with UK legislation and reporting deadlines.
    • On-going review of existing processes, delivering best practice in all areas.
    • Payroll processing for a range of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
    • Year end payroll processing
    • Administration of pension auto-enrolment processes
    • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
    • Management of client portfolio within processing deadlines
    • Drafting correspondence to clients / HMRC
    • Various ad hoc duties

To be considered for this position you should have the following:

    • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
    • Excellent communications skills with a friendly and positive outlook
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • A keen attention to detail
    • Have the ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Good experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
    • Experience of payroll systems essential, ideally Earnie/Iris Payroll

The ideal candidate will also have a minimum of two years’ experience within a high volume payroll bureau environment, preferably within an accountancy practice.

Accounts Assistant

Main Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
    • Preparation of corporate and business tax computations.
    • Bookkeeping responsibilities
    • Assist with implementing, training and supporting clients on Xero or Quickbooks Online
    • Provide advice on existing in house systems and identify potential improvements to increase quality, efficiency and service levels.
    • Working with a varied client portfolio, the role will involve regular client contact

Requirements:

    • You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice.
    • Must have excellent knowledge and a strong background working with Xero and/or Quickbooks Online.
    • Ideally you will be AAT qualified but we will consider candidates who are completing the final level of the qualification, or candidates who are working towards ACCA.
    • Experience of bookkeeping is preferable.
    • Experience of preparing management accounts and the ability to take statutory / year-end accounts to trial balance at a minimum would be essential
    • Previous experience of implementing and onboarding Quickbooks Online/Xero onsite at clients would be advantageous
    • Be able to work on own initiative and manage your time effectively.
    • Have strong communication skills, be confident in communicating with people and able to effectively manage client relationships.
