We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our practice. You will be passionate about cloud accounting and technology and enjoy developing and maintaining client relationships.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Working with a varied client portfolio, the role will involve regular client contact
- Maintaining financial reporting for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing management and financial accounts
- Preparing VAT returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Completing work within agreed timescales and budgets
- Assist with implementing, training and supporting clients on Xero or Quickbooks Online
- Provide advice on existing in house systems and identify potential improvements to increase quality, efficiency and service levels
- Liaising with managers, partners and other staff
To be considered for this position you should have the following:
- Have previous experience working within an accountancy firm - essential
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have strong IT skills
- Knowledge of systems such as Xero/Quickbooks essential
- Knowledge of systems such as Sage advantageous
- Be able to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own workload
- Have good technical/analytical skills
- Be comfortable liaising with clients via email/phone/in person as a key part of the role is developing and maintaining client relationships
- Previous experience of implementing and onboarding Quickbooks Online/Xero would be advantageous
- Experience in preparing management and financial accounts advantageous
